October Instructional Technology User Group Meeting about Podcasting Scheduled for Wednesday, 10/07, 10:00-12:00

September 30, 2009

Instructional Technology Services (ITS) will host the first Instructional Technology User Group Meeting for the fall semester on Wednesday, October 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Room 004 (basement level) of Heldenfels Hall. The discussion topic for this meeting will be podcasting, with a focus on both existing and emerging campus mobile applications.

Presenters will discuss how instructors can integrate both podcasting and mobile technologies into their curriculums, especially in the context of how students are using the two technologies in their courses and in their daily lives. Scheduled guest speakers will include Dr. Dennie Smith, department head of the Department of Teaching, Learning & Culture; Dr. Webster West, associate director of Online Learning in the Department of Statistics; and Diane McDonald, associate director of Marketing Services with the Division of Marketing & Communications and coordinator of Texas A&M’s presence on iTunes U.

All instructors and staff on campus who currently produce podcasts or use mobile applications—or those who may be just getting started—are invited to attend and share their experiences with the Texas A&M teaching community.

Register online or contact ITS at (979) 862-3977 or its@tamu.edu.
